Kelli Hanzo, RN, BSN Director
Kelli joined the bariatric center as director in 2012. Kelli has 20 years of nursing experience and is an associate member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. She oversees the bariatric center operations and works closely with her multidisciplinary team. Her goal is to ensure that each patient’s journey is as seamless as possible from the initial consultation to the day of surgery. You may first meet Kelli at one of our seminars, or possibly on the phone; either way, you can rest assured that she will offer guidance to make you feel like you are part of the Hackensack UMC Mountainside family. After surgery, Kelli works closely with her clinical team to ensure a safe transition home. Kelli is always available by phone or email and is passionate about helping all patients achieve their long-term success.
Ana Santiago-AlvaradoCertified Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewer
Ana joined the team in June of 2007. She collects and inputs data into the MBASQIP Data Registry Platform for our Center of Excellence. She also keeps patients on track with their follow-up office visits after surgery and assists with any general questions.
Katie Gorman, RDNutrition Coordinator
Katie joined the bariatric center as nutrition coordinator in 2013. Katie is a passionate registered dietitian who is dedicated to helping patients live a healthier lifestyle. Katie works closely with the multidisciplinary team and her team of dietitian at the Bariatric Center. She provides nutrition support to our bariatric patients before and after surgery, guiding them to make permanent lifestyle changes to achieve their weight loss goals.
Toni Pettinato, RN, CBN Certified Bariatric Nurse
Toni is a certified bariatric nurse who works closely with the medical director and leads a team of registered nurses. An associate member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Toni assists our patients with the initial consultation process, preoperative preparation and postoperative follow-up. Toni and her team help to ensure that all required testing and clearances are received prior to surgery to allow for a seamless transition to surgery. Toni enjoys the close professional relationship the bariatric center promotes with its patients and feels a personal connection to patients as she shares in their weight loss success. She is always accessible by phone or e-mail to answer any questions or concerns her patients may have.
Carol McGrath, RN
Carol has over 41 years of experience taking care of surgical patients at Hackensack UMC at Mountainside. She joined the bariatric center in 2006 and is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. She works very closely with our bariatric patients and is instrumental in preparing them for surgery. She is involved with our patients’ pre-op and post-op and will answer any questions they may have along their journey to weight loss success. Carol provides education each step of the way. Carol is easily available by phone or email to make the patient experience with the Bariatric Center a pleasant and stress-free process.
Khadijah Holmes Administrative Assistant
Khadijah has an extensive background in customer service. She is committed to service excellence and provides ambition and dedication to our patients. Khadijah loves working with our bariatric patients and works diligently to assist them in any way possible. Whether it’s making appointments, managing patient charts, or just answering general questions, she is always ready to help with a smile.
Konny Rodriguez Insurance Coordinator
Konny works with our patients to help them understand their insurance benefits for bariatric surgery. She regularly communicates with patients to explain the process of final approval to insure that all clinical information required by the insurance company will be submitted in a timely matter. Her experience in the bariatric field makes her well informed and knowledgeable with all insurance company criteria regarding bariatric surgery. She is always willing to answer any questions or concerns patients may have during this process. Her goal is to make this part of the program less difficult, and to assist our patients in their advancement towards surgery.
